Hi! My Name is Dezmond Ward. My pronouns or Him/ Him. I'm from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am attending Howard University as a Senior TV & Film Major and Technical Theatre minor. I love to explore new places and learn new information!
How has attending an HBCU set you up for success?
Attending an HBCU has set me up for success by connecting me with companies that best suit the career field I'm interested in.
How are you looking to contribute to the professional world upon graduation?
I am looking to come up with new ideas and trends that would behoove the professional world and improve workflow.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be an entrepreneur or work freelance. Ideally, something that blends fashion and film. I would love a job where I can travel the world and interact with other cultures. My end goal is to be the CEO of a traveling production company and also own my own line of clothing.
How do you express your personal sense of style through fashion?
I like to be cohesive and match different articles of clothing that I’m wearing. As long as the colors match, I’m very diverse with the color palette I use. Sometimes I like to use brighter colors that naturally boost my mood or I’ll do a more neutral look, but with a unique twist to it.
What role will you play in the future of fashion?
Film is my Major and fashion is a passion of mine that shapes my indentity. My goal is to blend the two and bridge both worlds. I would love to be on film photography team for a company or help shoot fashion shows. Outside of retail, I’d offer my talents as a costume designer on set for a movie or TV show.
