How has attending an HBCU set you up for success?

Attending an HBCU and more specifically Howard University was the best decision I could have made for my collegiate career. Living in an environment of other young, gifted, black students has allowed me the relief to forget that I am a "black" student. Seeing all the different backgrounds, cultures, and identities that we can proudly represent on Howard’s campus has opened my eyes to just how versatile the Black experience can be. This, coupled with the incredible opportunities and resources that are made available to HBCU students has exponentially increased my potential professionally, artistically, and socially.

How are you looking to contribute to the professional world upon graduation?

I intend to enter the workforce for marketing while I continue to grow my brands and do what I love; fashion and music. In addition to my full-time career, I will be continually searching for and creating designing, styling, modeling, and performance opportunities for myself and others.

What is your dream job?

My dream career involves being the Founder of a widely known and successful fashion brand that combines style and authenticity, as well as a successful hip hop artist, songwriter, and speaker. I would also love to enter into screenwriting, acting, and authoring.

How do you express your personal sense of style through fashion?

Fashion is the quickest way to show someone who I am. On the day-to-day, I exist in the streetwear world with my most comfortable and stylish hoodies, cargos, jeans, and sneakers. I am always hard at work and I enjoy the peace that comes from casualwear. When it is time to dress to impress, I pull out all the stops with a "sophisticated sexy" style. Each are highly representative of my mood, energy levels, and statement to prove. Fashion is how I communicate what I don't want to say.

What role will you play in the future of fashion?

Consumers of fashion deserve an industry that embraces authenticity as much as it embraces style and trend. My contribution will be to bridge the gap between fashion that is made solely for the aesthetic without considering its sustainability or its social impact on its consumers outside of exclusivity, and real authentic and transparent brand that can empower all that interact with it.
